The main living

The main living is north-facing and full of light, with carbonised oak underfoot, hemlock and a section of recycled brick to the walls, and a wood burner between the living and the kitchen. Glass on both sides sets the room in the gardens, the courtyard one way and the rear the other, with large stacker doors opening to both. We love the north light, and in winter the low sun and the fire work the room together.

The main living is north-facing and full of light. Carbonised oak runs underfoot, and hemlock lines the walls and ceiling, with recycled brick to part of the room. A wood burner sits alongside, between the living and the kitchen.Glass on both sides sets the room in the gardens, the courtyard one way and the rear of the property the other. Large stacker doors open it to both. In the warmer months the living and the patio read as one space. We love the north light in here. It fills the room through the day, and in winter the low sun and the wood burner work the room together.Warm underfoot, warm overhead, garden on both sides, and the patio a step away.
